This was our first time visiting Departure Coffee, and it was great. Although we had a little bit of a snafu with the tip (it was a tip way over a normal amount whether by mistake or a system glitch) and the owner ended up crediting the whole order back to make things simple for everyone. While I still wanted to pay and tip for what I received the staff worked with us to simply credit it back. Thanks for working with us and we'll be back.

Departure coffee is my favorite special treat of the week! Right down the road from me and love getting to support my local coffee house. Their food and drinks are top notch. I bring all my friends to try it out when they are over.

Phenomenal! Best coffee shop I have ever been to. Matcha was amazing. Specials are creative and delicious! Baked goods were the best I've ever had.

We have been walking on the rail trail for several months now and our "Go To", place is Departure Coffee in New Freedom. An outstanding place to get a great cup of Capuchino. Melanie is always a delight to order from, and her Baristas are the best. Departure Coffee is close to the rail trail, dog friendly with a water bowl and outside seating as a bonus. Our visits are always refreshing and not only can you get great coffee, there plenty of great cookies and pasties. If you are near New Freedom on the rail trail you must stop in. I think you will love this place. Please keep in mind they are closed Monday's and Tuesday's.

A wonderful addition to a well deserving community that has waited a long time for a local coffee spot! The Bialys (strawberry & blueberry) were absolutely delicious, we had to try one of each and did not disappoint. Could not ask for anything fresher! I ordered a Blue Hearted Iced Matcha -part of their drink special for spring and it was delicious! Nice and flavorful, not too sweet! Friendly staff, great atmosphere, accessible parking, a little section of merch to purchase! Handful of tables and areas to sit inside and socialize or get some work done. Looking forward to seeing this business thrive and grow in its new home!

My family frequents Departure Coffee a few days per week since they opened. Hands down the best coffee around! Baked goods are scratch-kitchen quality with them often selling out and the staff are friendly, attentive, and remember customers by name. We have tried almost every drink special ever offered seasonally, the majority of their baked goods and breakfast sandwiches, and have enjoyed our coffee both in-house and to-go. The location is wonderful, just off of the trail and nearby the Northern Central Railway station for anyone visiting New Freedom for either of those points of interest. Seating is available inside and outdoors and they offer a clean restroom - helpful if coming off of the trail or working from the cafe. Can't recommend this location enough.. so glad they came to New Freedom! 👏

Was one of my coffee stops when they were in Hanover pa at the markets , finally made my way over and as always did not disappoint would rate them as 10 stars if I could. Awesome baked goods, coffee was flavorful and refreshing at the same time atmosphere and people are amazing as always highly recommend giving them a try and dont be shy to try somthing completely out of your normal it's worth it . Always friendly and willing to go the extra mile to help you find something you like and to make sure you feel welcome.

Been here a few times but I stopped today on a bike ride along the rail trail and lemme tell you. That coffee and pastry revived me. Some of the best I’ve ever had. Also great customer service. 10/10 for me!

Departure Coffee made one of the best vanilla lattes I’ve had in the U.S. (and I’ve had a lot)! From friendly service to delicious homemade baked goods and fantastic drinks (drip coffee, chai, and lattes are all great), you can’t go wrong. There is plenty of open seating with tables and couches perfect for meeting friends or reading. The atmosphere is very calm and the huge windows bring in lots of the natural light. I cannot recommend Departure enough!
